ABOUT JAG:

Empowering students with the skills and support to succeed in education, employment and life – that’s the mission of JAG Nebraska. By utilizing a model developed by the national Jobs for America’s Graduates (JAG) organization, the program is dedicated to empowering students with personal and professional development training and support to succeed in middle school and high school, further education and employment following graduation.

Founded in 2019 through a partnership with the State of Nebraska’s Departments of Labor and Health and Human Services – JAG Nebraska started with three schools and has now grown to serve up to 4,000 students at 80 middle and high schools across the state. With the current support of Governor Jim Pillen, Commissioner John Albin and DHHS CEO Dr. Steve Corsi – we plan to grow JAG Nebraska by 50 programs for the school year beginning in August 2025 –exponentially increasing capacity to serve all students that would benefit from JAG Nebraska.

High school graduates in Nebraska earn approximately 20% more than those who do not graduate.

JAG NEBRASKA RESULTS EXCEED NATIONAL STATS

On a national level, JAG has accumulated more than 30 years of data showing a direct correlation between JAG participation, graduation, and positive outcomes. In Nebraska, where JAG has been operating since 2019, our success rates have been outshining other states.

PROGRAMS THAT WORK FOR STUDENTS

The JAG national organization reports JAG graduates are:

  • 2.3 times more likely to be employed full time;
  • Projected to produce more than $5,000,000 in increased earnings and spending annually;
  • Estimated to increase state and local tax revenue by over $200,000 by the midpoint of their careers;
  • Expected to increase home sales on a national level by $16,000,000 to provide increased property taxes.

In Nebraska, statistics show high school graduates are:

  • Projected to earn 20% more than those who do not
    graduate high school;
  • 15% more likely to own a home in Nebraska compared
    to those who do not graduate;
  • Half as likely as non-graduates to be at risk for poverty
